Inc. recently published a survey describing the top New Year’s resolutions for 2019. Admitting, unsurprisingly, diet and eating healthier took the #1 position on the list, comprising 71% of new year’s resolutions. Exercising more took 65% and losing weight follows at 54%. Other top new year’s resolutions include: saving more and spending less, learning a new skill or hobby, quitting smoking, reading more, finding another job, drinking less alcohol, and finally spending more time with family and friends.
Statista nicely presents the data in the chart below:
Unfortunately though, more often than not, individuals break their new year’s resolutions when faced with challenges, obstacles, and/or burdens. As such, this got me thinking. Speaking to folks on the verge of breaking their new year’s resolutions, I’ve uncovered that many do not truly grasp how chiropractic care can help you achieve the results and goals you desire quicker and more efficiently.
Due to that, I have put together this two part series on how chiropractic care can help YOU achieve YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS!
To start, did you know chiropractic care can improve your diet and exercise performance? And you probably already know that if you improve your diet and exercise habit, you can lose weight. Do you also know that by aligning your spine, your ability to lose weight improves in itself? What about the fact that chiropractic care can improve your focus and clarity, while diminish your anxiety and depression? Accordingly, with improved mental health, you can find the motivation, strategy, and mental strength to reach your other goals.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, chiropractic care is more than just back cracking. It’s about your overall health (mind, body, and soul). It’s about strengthening the health of one of the most important systems in your body, your nervous system! It’s about improving the links in a chain that controls your entire health and correspondingly improves your entire wellness. So, I hope at the very least, after reading these blogs, you realize that as a Doctor of Chiropractic, I’m more than your to go guy for back cracking. We’re here, as your solution, to raise your health to an entirely different level.
Therefore, allow me to explain. As you may have seen in my previous blogs, spinal decompression therapy, laser therapy, and adjustments all help IMPROVE your spine health and total health. These, all in turn also help improve your nerve communication.
What’s the Difference Between Spinal Decompression Therapy, Laser Therapy, and Adjustments/Chiropractic Care?
Spinal Decompression Therapy – When the discs in your spine bulge or herniate, pressure is built, pain arises, and proper nerve communication is disrupted. However, via Spinal Decompression Therapy, a safe, affordable, FDA-cleared, non-surgical, computer controlled, spinal decompression machine comfortably separates the bones within the spine, eliminating spinal pressure, relieving pain, and strengthening the communication channels. Laser Therapy – Also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), this therapy utilizes the power of light wavelengths to interact with your tissue and subsequently eliminate pain, relieve inflammation, reduce swelling, lesson spasms, increase functionality, accelerate healing, and also improve nerve communication. Adjustments and Overall Wellness Chiropractic Care – The application of various techniques, tools, and resources to help you eliminate pain, balance your body’s structure, lose weight, improve function, self-heal, and more. Learn More
Okay, back to your new year’s resolutions. Let’s say your goal is to eat better, exercise more, and/or lose weight. Well, chiropractic treatment helps improve the communication pathways controlling when you feel hungry and when you feel full, which then allows you to truly know when to eat and when to stop. Furthermore, via aligning your spine, your body will be better able to absorb the nutrients from the foods you consume, thus further maximizing your results.
What’s more, as you probably already know, not only does life have its stressful moments at times, but the average person tends to eat when stressed. Why? Well, they prefer to deal with stress by eating junk and comfort foods. However, by taking advantage of chiropractic treatment, you’ll notice fewer body aches and pains, improved agility, and increased mental health, therefore, you’ll be less stressed and can reduce your stress eating. It’s a win-win.
To top it off, a chiropractor as myself, specializing in sports chiropractics, has the knowledge and resources to help you improve your nutrition and exercise!
